La La Land: Disneyland x I’m the Little Mermaid

Oh the happiest place on earth it is. Childhood dreams still drift in the land of imagination. The smell of freshly popped popcorn, sugar coated churros and the sounds of familiar Disney tunes gets me all amped up.

My favorite Disney princess is The Little Mermaid and I was so happy to find this day dress from Hot Topic with matching bow. I got so many compliments throughout the day from staff and fellow Disney lovers around the park.

I used to have long red mermaid hair, but sadly I have to let my locks rest of the bleach and heavy dyes. So I went for some red pieces to make the look more ala Ariel. I found a great belt from a vintage store on Montrose in Glendale called “Patty’s Closet” for just $10! The sparrows really give the rockabilly look.

Isn’t the teal color perfect? And look at the print! Suttle character silhouettes making the dress not so tacky.

I did a wet-set for my hair the night before so my curls would last all day! Following a specific pattern gave the 1950s curls.

It’s Summer and Labor Day Weekend! While most of Manila’s finest are headed to Laboracay, I had a mini vacation in my own backyard. A few beers, some Jim Beam and a yummy burger by the poolside is just as fun as the pounding music with sweaty bodies clushing togther in the spirit of summer.

Swimsuit is from I Love Koi! Kiomono is from Supre.

Bouncing Nets and a Little Black Dress

The fashion Gods gave the commandment that every girl must own a little black dress.

I’ve found mine and I have treasured it since 2012.  I bought it in Rome because I felt I needed an LBD in the city where Audrey Hepburn ran away with Gregory Peck. (However, I know the LBD belongs to Breakfast at Tiffanys). The Gods were right, as this dress has become my savior. IT belongs in any occasion. I’ve worn it to birthdays, meetings, events, even just a casual day out.

Accessorizing is so easy with it and it’s so comfortable. Any girl with any style needs one.

I added a cute flower for the pinup touch and did my hair in a wet set for those vintage curls.

It was my friends birthday filled with lots of alcoholic beverages. The night ended spontaneously on a trapeze net. Yes, the acrobatic art form of swinging yourself on bars. We didn’t actually perform ourselves but drinking beers on a net in the middle of the city was pretty great to me.

Happy Birthday Chesca!

Summer! Gingham and Tacos: Dinner Date at El Chupacabra

This dress screams Dorothy! Where is my Toto? My outfit belongs at a picnic, but instead I took it to a taco shop. El Chupacabra, located on Polaris St. In Makati, is the place to find the local hipsters grubbing down on carne asada, gorditos and sweet sweet horchata. This place is pretty close to something I would get back home in LA.

Gingham is one of my favorite pinup prints, and with my white cardigan this outfit is perfect for a hot summers date.

I think I’m having an affair with the color teal. This dress is so cute with it’s polkadots and the structure of the color makes it a classic pinup look. The material is so light which is perfect for summer. My shoes are Philippine hand-made and guess for how much? Just Php 250! I did my makeup light for the day because of the insane humidity that is happening. This look is overall pretty simple.

Summer is here!

A light colored wardrobe is in play now, and with this pretty teal peplum skirt makes me feel all summery (if thats a word). I bought it back when I had big red mermaid hair, and when I would wear this…ala Ariel! The top is a china floral print in a bustier structure so it’s fun for summer and perfect for the heat. A denim jacket during the humid hell of summer? Don’t worry it’s a very light jacket and needed for when at night the summer night becomes cool and eerie.
