The Pin-Up Girl Makeup in just 6 steps with 6 products featuring Besame Cosmetics

Thanks to Besame Cosmetics the way to a glamorous look has been deducted to just 6 products and 6 steps. There is no need for contouring, baking, layers and more layers…here are the only products you’ll need to get that perfect pin-up girl look!

2017-03-17-18.56.20.png.png

  1. Besame’s Lipstick in 1959 Red Hot Red
  2. Besame’s Black Cake Mascara
  3. Chanel Comfort Radiance Compact Makeup
  4. Max Factor’s Facefinity All Day Flawless
  5. The Balm’s Down Boy Shadow Blush
  6. A pair of your favorite falsies

How did it all come down to this? Mascara, liner and brows are a big part of everyone’s makeup routine. There are just a crazy amount of options, but with this Black Cake Mascara it is all down to one. Yup, I use it for all!

How the Cake Mascara works:

  1. Brows: I like my brows full but soft. I don’t like the gel look, so I brush these thoroughly.

2017-03-17-01.51.05-1.jpg.jpeg

2. Face: I use Max Factor’s Facefinity. It’s also a 3 in 1 product (Primer, Concealer and Foundation) Less product, same results.  Just a brush of compact powder to set.

2017-03-17-01.52.04-1.jpg.jpeg

3. Eyeliner and Mascara: Here is the fun part! The Cake Mascara is so easy to use that my cat eyeliner was done in under a minute (for those who know the struggle this is a miracle). It’s so potent and the mascara is so light that when I later on apply my falsies they don’t weigh down.

4. Lashes! Just adding them on. I buy mine from Suesh  (Php 100 per pair!)

5.  Lips! Besame’s Red Hot Red is a replica from 1959. I am obsessed with the detail of their products….their tubes are so pretty!

6.  Blush Blush Blush: Again, obsessed with this product’s packaging. You may have seen the Balm’s cute pin-up designs. So this is obviously a perfect product for this look. I use my middle and ring finger to apply my blush to the apples of my cheeks. I like to use my fingers for this because it warms up the product making it smooth and natural.

That’s it!!! It’s really simple, and definitely something you can do. The products are all worth the money. If you have any questions on techniques and other alternatives, ask away!

Pin Up makeover with my sister: the Page Boy

pageboy

My sister and I had some fun with a pin-up makeover. I decided to do the Page Boy hair pattern, since her hair is the perfect length. It’s a style that was worn daily, and I find really classic. Her usual style is very casual, so getting the chance to give her this small make-over was great.

Pin-Up Inspired Christmas Outfits

It’s the Christmas season and that means getting ready for all those holiday parties! Here are some ideas on what to wear during the festivities. I picked out my favorite color combinations inspired by some classic holiday tunes.

Silver Bells

Here Comes Santa Clause

White Christmas

You can always mix them up, but I love the classic white and red. You may notice I didn’t add any green, and that’s because I like to think of standing out in front of the Christmas tree. Always pair with a red lip, and I usually just do my regular curl set. Up-do or a half-do are pretty classy hairstyles that go with these outfits.
What are your favorite holiday colors?

Ballet Manila: Cinderella!

Cinderella-FBcover.jpg

It was perfection! The costumes, the choreography, the dancers, the MUSIC. Filled my hear with ultimate joy. My previous post on Cinderella (2015) AND this year’s performance by Ballet Manila, has made Cinderella my ultimate favorite princess. This was Ballet Manila’s first take on the production, with original choreography from no other than Lisa Macuja-Elizade (she also played the Fairy Godmother!) Click here for behind the scenes!

I brought along my mom and dad for the first time, and they LOVED it! My brother also enjoyed the detailed set designs, pointing out the moving hand on the clock about to stroke midnight! This production is by far my favorite, and I am so proud of Ballet Manila. They bring the best of ballet to Filipinos!

I had a Cinderella inspired outfit. Basically, I realized I had a dress that matched the Cinderella shade. Added pearls and a black ribbon and my favorite black coat.

Inspirations: Disney’s Cinderella (2015)

There’s been a hype now with Disney’s live-action remakes. With the upcoming Beauty and the Beast, which happens to be my dad’s favorite Disney movie, I have to write about another Disney classic which was made into a live-action film just last year. I had my doubts about the new take on Cinderella, but I was surprised that they kept the romantic fantasy alive. Recent movies carry a theme on topics such as sisterhood (Frozen), feminism (Tangled), and growing up (Toy Story 3). So, it was nice to have a film that was back in touch with Disney’s Once Upon a Time.

The fashion is the best part of Cinderella. Throughout the entire film I could not help but burst with excitement. Seriously, every piece Cate Blanchette wore, along with all the corsets and the silk fabrics…

The costumes were designed by Sandy Powell, and she executed the designs with the idea of  “a nineteenth-century period film made in the 1940s or ’50s,” (Click here to for more on Sandy Powell)

Here are some of my favorites from the film:

mildrid

Joan Crawford in Mildred Pierce played an inspiration to the designs of the stepmother.

Art deco jewelry and waist fitting belts. Along with jewel toned fabrics. Sculpted hair, and red lipstick to match.

Something similar is Jean Harlow in her negligee.

I loved Cinderella’s dress, the colors were so pretty. The ruffled off-shoulder cut reminded me of this design by Balenciaga from 1952.

You can’t forget the step sisters….I loved how their style represented their personalities. Over the top, loud and attention seeking. The ruffles, corsets and use of the wired petticoat isn’t quite mid-century fashion. Rather it’s more of the modern day goth.

Again, with a more 19th century cross modern-day goth, the Fairy Godmother’s dress is just as dreamy as Cinderella’s. And it’s Helena Bonham Carter who is the queen of corsets and lace.

Lastly, the wedding gown. I have no words.

Which of the Cinderella characters are your favorite?
